Jill Penman Selected in the 2017 Who’s Who in Residential Real Estate

On the heals of the Real Deal Power Rankings placing Jill in the top 30 Miami-Dade Agents, Jill has been recognized again, this time by Miami Agent Magazine. The Jill Penman Group is proud to announce Jill's inclusion in the 2017 Who's Who in Miami Residential Real Estate.  While these are great accomplishments individually, Jill is most proud of the results that matter most to her clients; high sales-to-list price percentage, low days on the market, and a great client experience.  Read more about these [...]

Coconut Grove Waterfront Update – Part 2

This is the second post in my three part series on the revival of the Coconut Grove waterfront. I started with a general update on the initial waterfront plan and the parks and public spaces in Part 1.  Today I will update you on some of the devlopments happening in  the private sector and how condos and retail are influencing the waterfront's revival. As I noted in the last post, The Coconut Grove Waterfront and Spoil Islands Master Plan called for an estimated 170 million [...]

Coconut Grove Waterfront Update – Part 1

Sometimes change goes unnoticed or we read news only of plans and don't see enough action for years. Such was the case with the Coconut Grove waterfront plan. The RFP initially was drafted in 2014, and released in 2005 for a master plan for the Grove waterfront. This led to the final plan presented and approved in 2008. Dubbed the "Coconut Grove Waterfront and Spoil Islands Master Plan" it was a comprehensive plan on on how to best improve the waterfront strategically and with vision [...]

Why to Invest in South Florida Real Estate?

With a large number of second homes and condos, South Florida is prone to boom and bust cycles that stem more from investment hopes than housing needs. Add an expanding Latino population and waves of baby-boomers – two million retiring every year – and you get both risks and opportunities. Demand for Florida housing is always growing, but is it growing slower or faster than the supply? If you’re planning to buy a home, do it now, because prices are going up for the next [...]

The Scoop: August 7th, 2015

Hospitality import Stephen Starr strikes again. The restaurateur’s Continental, whose original version opened in his Philadelphia home base 20 years ago this summer, expanded to the new Aloft hotel in South Beach. Executive chef Matthew Oetting came from Starr’s Caffe Storico in New York. Though he makes a mean backyard burger topped with Nueske’s bacon, vegetarians will find plenty of greens. Crudité features a trio of dips including hummus, ranch dressing and Korean ssamjang. Dijonnaise jazzes up a whole globe artichoke, while romesco and pickled chiles work wonders for charred broccoli. DIY bento boxes present an array of sushi ingredients—don’t worry about your skills since full instructions are provided. It sates his patrons as they wait for his new French concept alongside his popular Makoto in Bal Harbour Shops.

Spotlight on Coral Reef Yacht Club

Although Miami is overflowing with vibrant communities, I am proud to call Coconut Grove my home. This bohemian chic neighborhood is full of life, culture and is extremely family friendly. One of my favorite places in the Grove to enjoy quality family time is The Coral Reef Yacht Club. Centrally located in the heart of the Grove on Biscayne Bay, this beautiful clubhouse is known as one of the world’s great watersport playgrounds  and offers rich tradition, warm hospitality is host to some of the [...]
