Miami museums save their best stuff for Basel. The Bass snagged the Haas Brothers’ first solo show at a museum. For “Ferngully,” Los Angeles-based twins Nikolai and Simon Haas blend art and design with sculptural furniture and decorative pieces, whose fantastically textured, anthropomorphic characteristics range from fur to horns. Besides their show through April 21, 2019, they collaborated with L’Objet for a Basel-only, pop-up shop stocked with textiles, fragrance, tableware and other nifty goods like incense holders. The art world can’t contain its fascination with pioneering feminist artist Judy Chicago, and the ICA, Miami is no exception. On through April 21, 2019, the museum’s major retrospective “Judy Chicago: A Reckoning” spans seven bodies of her work from the Sixties to the Nineties. Grab her limited-edition tee by Max Mara, too.
