Things to Do

The large parks covering either end of Key Biscayne offer an abundance of recreation and beautiful waterfront scenery. Crandon Park in the north covers 808 acres with biking and hiking trails running through tropical mangrove forests, coastal hammocks, and an idyllic sandy beach dotted with palm trees. Crandon Park Tennis Center has 27 tennis courts and a 13,800-seat stadium that hosted the Miami Open between 1987 and 2018. Crandon Golf Course is considered one of the best in Florida. Pros and celebrities frequently head to Key Biscayne to play a game on Crandon’s 18 holes.

Bear Cut Preserve is a world-class snorkeling destination with one of only two fossilized mangrove reefs on the planet. The nearby Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center offers interactive exhibits and expert-guided tours exploring Crandon Park’s stunning natural scenery. You can also set off from Crandon Marina for fishing trips or nighttime sightseeing boat tours that take in bioluminescent marine creatures and illuminated views of the Miami skyline. The Miami Seaquarium is a great place to explore marine life and learn more about species that inhabit the oceans.

At the southern end of Key Biscayne, Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park has awe-inspiring ocean views and a mile-long beach that is frequently featured in lists of the nation’s best beaches.
