PULITZER PRIZE

The late Lilly Pulitzer would have turned 87 on Saturday. Her eponymous fashion collection celebrates her legacy and its 60th anniversary with a block-long bash on November 10th at its spacious new flagship on Worth Avenue. Her signature prints are available at other Palm Beach boutiques, but the brand wanted to return to the street where she originally founded her little shop that grew into a household name. Shop two heritage capsule collections created in her honor, or design your own shift dress, one of the location’s exclusive services: After opting for the Mila or Gabby styles, select from five special prints as well as lace trims. The in-house print artist makes your order, which is shipped to your home. The fun experience is another first for the company.

SEED BANK

A lot has changed in South Florida’s wellness scene since Seed Food & Wine Week, the original plant-based festival, launched five years ago. The initial wave of juice bars and yoga studios begat plant-based restaurants and practices from meditation to breathwork. The five-day event, which takes place through November 11 at multiple venues around Miami, offers a deluge of speakers, products and delicious meals—much like its inspiration, South Beach Wine & Food Festival, only far healthier. Conscious living entrepreneurs will want to attend its two-day Seed Summit, followed by Saturday’s yoga class and Seed Festival Tasting Day at Magic City District Studios (6301 NE Fourth Avenue). The latter features hundreds of vendors for bites, cooking demos, music and a craft beer garden. Don’t miss the celebrity chef dinners, either.

CHEER HERE

Besides themed events such as wine tastings, the Brightline express train service, which regularly runs among Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, introduces the Polar Express train ride from November 11 through January 1. Based on the best-selling children’s book, the magical ride departs from its Fort Lauderdale station with Santa’s helpers, hot chocolate and cookies, and a souvenir sleigh bell to take home. Passengers of all ages are encouraged to don their jammies. Book by November 10th for special perks. The Miami Design District gets into the spirit with its Holiday Miami Market for Makers with 80 vendors on November 10-11 at the Moore Building (191 NE 40th Street). Launching soon in Palm Beach, Stoney Clover Lane’s accessories with adorable, custom patches, pictured, also make great presents.

GRANDVIEW GROWS

Just back for season, and the fridge in bare? West Palm Beach’s Grandview Public Market has plenty of places to grab a quick meal. The hip food hall added Cholo BBQ, a Texas-friendly concept from the folks at Cholo Soy Cucina taqueria along South Dixie Highway’s Antique Row. Gather the family for platters of brisket and ribs with all the classic sides and key lime pie for dessert. It’s ironic that El Cochinito, a Los Angeles institution for Cubanos, would expand here rather than a Miami destination, but alas, executive chef co-owner Daniel Navarro wanted to import his grandmother’s famous sandwich and other star dishes like lechón asado to his hometown. After popping up at local farms, Oliver and Cindy Frost also park their mobile, wood-fired pizzeria, Pizza Paradise, soon.
