Back in October I wrote about plans for Regatta Park in Coconut Grove.  The  12-acre site was the subject of much discussion after toxins were discovered in the area.  Fortunately for Coconut Grove residents, all environmental concerns were addressed and it was confirmed that all toxins were safely removed from the former Coconut Grove Expo Center  site rubble. City commissioners approved $5 million for the park’s construction along with 200 donated trees and the bidding project commenced.

I’ve been trying to stay up-to-date on this development, and this weekend I noticed an official sign for Regatta Park was up!  This means, the project across from Park Grove and Grove at Grand Bay, was most likely awarded a bid.  The main goal of this project is to connect Kennedy Park and Peacock Park while providing more public, waterfront space for locals. As a resident of the Grove I am thrilled about the exciting updates to my neighborhood.
