There have been consistent reports of controversy about Grove Isle construction of a new luxury condo tower. But current proposals may ameliorate resident concerns. The hypothetical fourth tower will replace a hotel and will be completely private. This means that the island would in theory only be accessible to condo owners, renters, and visitors rather than members of the public who currently have access to the private island because of hotel & spa amenities. As a Coconut Grove real estate market expert, I’m generally positive about efforts to revamp the island. The existing towers were constructed around the ‘80s and generally run down making investment there unappealing.
